Dave Sawtelle and Caron Lee
We have semi-grated from Gauteng to what we consider one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines. During our stay here, we have taken the time to explore the area and to get to know some of its hidden secrets. We are enthusiastic to share these with our guests, to increase their enjoyment of the area.
Dave has been involved in the IT industry as a salesman and business owner and will continue to manage his business from Gansbaai in addition to his activities at the lodge. Besides being a great cook, Caron has a background in Microbiology and more recently comes from the world of marketing and advertising.
Both of us are conservationists, love the bush and nature, have been involved in introducing people to the wild, have volunteered and been trained as Honorary Officers with the North West Parks Board, where, amongst other voluntary duties, we were involved in Rhino Monitoring and conservation. We have signed up as Honorary Rangers in SanParks for this region. We bring our environmental experience, passion and philosophy into the lodge to add value to our guests’ stay with us.
Our interests and activities include scuba diving (more recently, Great White Shark and Whale watching) , squash, cycling, running, motorcycling and most outdoor and bush adventures and hiking. We have been involved in the hospitality industry via our roles as Honorary Officers and a hobby business called The African Connection, whose objective is to connect people to nature through guided trips into natural environments.
